Better Factories Cambodia Gender Strategy 2024-2027

1 Aug 2026

Better Factories Cambodia’s Gender Strategy 2024–2027 sets out a practical, locally grounded approach to advancing gender equality in Cambodia’s garment, footwear and travel goods sector. Building on BFC’s first gender strategy and the Better Work Global Gender Strategy, it aims to embed a gender-transformative lens across factory services, partnerships, research, monitoring and communication.

The strategy focuses on five priority areas:

  • Discrimination
  • Safety and Health
  • Voice and Representation
  • Care and Family
  • Leadership and growth

Working with factories, workers, employers, government, trade unions, brands and development partners, BFC seeks to prevent discrimination and harassment, strengthen women’s voice and leadership, improve access to maternity and care-related rights, and create more equitable opportunities for skills development and career advancement.
