Director, Labour Governance and Sectoral Policies Department (GOVERNANCE)

ILO

Ms Paquete-Perdigão is Director of the Labour Governance and Sectoral Policies Department (GOVERNANCE) at the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Department provides policy advice and technical assistance across a broad range of areas aimed at strengthening labour governance and advancing the effective realization of labour rights in the world of work. Its work promotes effective and inclusive social dialogue, strong labour institutions and sector-specific approaches to addressing challenges and opportunities in the world of work.

An economist by training, Ms Paquete-Perdigão has more than 30 years of experience in development at both national and international levels. Throughout her career, she has acquired extensive expertise in economic development, poverty reduction, child labour, gender equality, project and programme management, and organizational leadership.

Her professional experience reflects a longstanding commitment to advancing decent work, strengthening institutions and promoting inclusive and sustainable development.
