New York – Results of the impact assessment on the Better Work programme were discussed and praised during a briefing at the United Nations in New York, on November 2. Ambassadors from Indonesia and Jordan spoke about their countries’ experiences as beneficiaries of the programme and a Minister from the Swiss delegation explained why her country is committed to long term support for Better Work.
“Programmes like this one [Better Work] are very important – not only for the empowerment of women in our country, as a major beneficiary of this project – but also in terms of bringing new ideas, bringing support to the economy and bringing creativity to the work that we do in development in general”, said Ms Sima Sami Bahous, ambassador and permanent representative of Jordan to the UN.
