Mohamad Anis Agung Nugroho joined Better Work Bangladesh as Programme Manager in February 2022 after spending over ten years working at Better Work Indonesia in various roles. Anis joined Better Work Indonesia in December 2010, first as an Enterprise Advisor, before being promoted to the position of Senior Advisor, responsible for managing core services, including assessment, advisory and training. As National Operations Manager of Better Work Indonesia from 2015, he played a key role in setting up Yayasan Kemitraan Kerja, which implements Better Work’s core services in the country. From 2017 until January 2022, Anis led Yayasan Kemitraan Kerja as the foundation’s Executive Director.
Anis began his professional career in the garment sector after graduating from the School of Textile Technology in Bandung, Indonesia, in 1999. He worked for several garment manufacturers as an industrial engineer, involved in production planning and inventory control, and as an assistant to the general manager. In 2003, he moved to a vendor and worked as a Compliance and Quality Manager, contributing to sourcing decisions in countries, such as Bangladesh, Morocco, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. To pursue his interest in good labour governance and public policy, he completed a master’s degree in Public Policy at the University of Indonesia in 2021.
