Ivo Spauwen has been appointed Programme Manager of the Better Work Pakistan Programme, based in Islamabad, as of 1 July 2025.

Since joining Better Work in 2013, Ivo has divided his time between the Geneva head office and Bangkok regional office of the International Labour Organization, with frequent visits to work with BW country teams in Asia, Middle East and the Americas. In this role he managed strategic partnerships and has been overseeing the quality of services delivered in over 2000 factories.

Prior to BW, Ivo spent 7 years at Fair Wear Foundation where he focused on review of purchasing practices of member brands and management of training and verification services in China, Vietnam and Bangladesh. Ivo started his work in the field at Better Factories Cambodia in 2006. He has a master degree in business studies from Maastricht University and a master degree in development studies from Utrecht University.
